Ceramic Classes

Below is a schedule will have during our first 8 week session at Dusty Pants! We will have the classic Beginners Wheel Throwing and Hand Building classes, along with new classes like Cartoon to Clay by Sarah Anderson and Lamp Making by Austin Coudriet!

Monday:

We will kick things off on Monday nights with an Intro to Wheel Throwing and an Intro to Hand Building class from 6:30 - 9 pm, taught by Sarah Anderson and Austin Coudriet!

Tuesday:

On Tuesday evenings from 6:30 - 9 pm, we will have a Lamp Making class taught by Austin and an Intermediate Wheel Throwing class taught by Sarah. Austin's lamp making students will learn how to construct a personalized lamp and assemble its components. Sarah's intermediate wheel throwers are for those students who have already taken intro to wheel throwing a million times but don't feel like they're ready to move on - trust me, you are and this class is for you. 

Wednesday:

On Wednesday evenings from 6:30 - 9 pm, Sarah will be teaching a Cartoon to Clay class and Austin will be teaching an Intro to Wheel Throwing class! Starting with an image/drawing of a cartoon or character, students will learn how to turn a 2D creature into a full sculpture! This will be a multi-media class, so students will also learn how to add non-clay components to the clay surface. 

Saturday & Sunday:

On Saturday morning from 10 - 12:30 pm, an instructor will be teaching another Intro to Wheel Throwing class, and Sunday from 4 - 6:30 pm will be Open Instruction! This class is for folks that want to do their own thing, not follow the instruction of a regular class, but still enjoys working along side others and having social time built into their day. Sarah and Austin will both be instructing this class, helping students with their own personalized projects during this 8 week session. 

Open Studio:

On top of all of these classes, students will have access to the studios outside of class hours on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 1 - 5 pm, and Sundays from 12 - 3:30 pm. 

One Night Classes:

Every other Friday and Saturday nights from 7 - 9 pm we will offer one night classes! Sometimes these will be date night wheel throwing classes, sometimes we will be doing a raku or pit fire, sometimes we will make giant fruit or have a Patrick Swayze competition!

Clay-Based Therapy:

This clay-based therapeutic class is designed to support stress reduction and emotional regulation through hands-on creative expression. Led by Dr. Lexy Silva Halpen, PhD, BCBA-D, who has published research in clay-based therapy, participants will use clay as a tool to decompress, reduce stress, and create in ways that allow you to focus on you being the best version of yourself possible.
